The spring Ontario run — what I'm thinking

A quick one, Sean — have a read and tell me where I've got it right and where you know better.

Right — off the back of Peterborough coming together, I've been mapping what a proper little Ontario run could look like around it. Nothing's booked, this is me sketching it and wanting your eyes on it before I go any further, because you know these rooms and these towns a lot better than I do.

*Quick date check for you: in 2027 the 25th is a Thursday, the 26th a Friday, the 27th a Saturday — so Toronto/Niagara/Peterborough lands as a clean Thu–Fri–Sat. Shout if you meant different days.

The run I'd build around it

Peterborough's the anchor, and from there the natural line runs east — down through Belleville, Kingston, and out to Ottawa, all short drives, an hour or so apart. That's the tight, sensible version: the three nights above, then Peterborough, then east. Every drive under two hours, no daft mileage.

If you fancy going bigger, there's a whole western wing too — Hamilton, Kitchener, Guelph, London — but that's a longer haul and only worth it if you want the volume. My instinct is keep it tight and punchy, but you tell me.

Rooms I'm sounding out

These are the ones I'm getting rates and dates from — proper mid-size rooms we'd hire and promote ourselves, so we keep the door:

This is where I need you, because you know the ground:

  • Toronto & Niagara — which rooms are you already on? Send me the names/contacts so I don't go treading on your toes chasing the same rooms.
  • The route — does the east line (Belleville / Kingston / Ottawa) feel right, or is there somewhere obvious I'm missing?
  • Local knowledge — any promoters or rooms you've played and liked (or would avoid)? Anyone local worth having on side, like Al in Peterborough?
  • How hard — how many nights do you fancy? A tight 5–7, or do you want to properly load it up?
  • Dates — I'm asking every room for their free dates right across March, April and May, so we've got room to move — anything in there you can't do?

No rush on all of it — even a few voice notes back would move this on nicely. Once I've got your steer and the rooms come back with dates, I'll pull it into a proper routing and we'll lock it.
